The Enlightenment Tea Table mini-series was inspired by 18th-century Berlin and Haskalah (Jewish Enlightenment) culture, and in particular, the celebrated musical Salons — or “tea-tables”, as they were then known — hosted by salonniére and music patron Sara Levy. Discussion and inquiry interspersed with performances of music that would have been played at Levy’s famed salon, alongside the music of her famous great-nephew and niece - Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn.

Two beautiful concerts, two wonderfaul musical guests, three (!) different historical keyboards, and a collection of thought-provoking texts by Moses Mendelssohn, one of the great philosophical minds of the era.
